Bonny and Read Seafood

My husband made reservations for Valentine’s Day because we’ve always wanted to try Bonny and Read. The entire experience was well worth it and we will definitely be going back. Not only was the atmosphere wonderful, the service and food were outstanding. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, very professional, but also personable at the same time. The seafood was some of the best in Colorado Springs.

Chi latte was amazing and hubby’s cappuccino was just as good. Drinks were made in about two min from ordering. It was pretty busy so we couldn’t sit at a table but they have built in benches with stools that were available.

I don’t often say this about a restaurant, as I am a very picky eater, but literally everything tasted amazing. I got some chicken poblano soup, salmon, and Chai tea. The service was attentive. The price was $57 for 2 people, which honestly I think is very affordable for the quality of what we got. Not sure why this place isn’t rated 5 stars. We would definitely come back.

Mikes was our server this morning. He was absolutely wonderful. He definitely deserves some recognition for his personality, and respect. He was great, helpful, and the food was fantastic. He even found us some hot sauce we could purchase! Everyone be like Mike! 🙂

The house salad was the best item on the menu we tried. The pizza was nicely done. I had a Ruben sandwich, they were out of the marble rye, so I chose the wheat bread, it was just ok. Not enough meat or thousand island dressing. Big place books, puzzles, jewelry, greeting cards like ten flavors of tea, and baked goods that we did not try. I had the hibiscus tea and it was delicious. No sweetener but still satisfying.

Service was friendly and very helpful. Ordered enchilada plate, breakfast burritos & chorizo plate. Food was hot and fresh. Place was clean looking. A little toppings bar was there where you get limes, salsa, jalapeños & more. Food was made very fast!! We took it to go. Unfortunately my babe caught COVID from this place, the food was still good. I’m assuming she got it from the door handle or the handles for the toppings. Within hours she was very very ill & tested positive the next morning. We will return but will be cautious of touching things!

What a delightful surprise this place was. They had great cocktails, great appetizers. Great waitress. We had a nice evening. And a bonus, they have their own parking spaces, hard to find downtown like that.
