Great museum and very informative – to include free admission. The docent was very helpful – very glad that they saved the old courthouse and made it into a museum rather than tearing it down for a parking lot! Some very informative exhibits about the history of Colorado Springs. Highly recommended for 2-3 hours!
Space Foundation Headquarters and Discovery Center
This place is a great place to learn. Everyone working here is very knowledgeable. They have lots of interesting exhibits. I learned a lot of new information. Gift shop has quite a bit to choose from. Driving the rovers was fun. Definitely a great place for kids! Loved the rocket trash cans.
Miramont Castle Museum and The Queen’s Parlour Tea Room
A fascinating experience. The lady at the front desk was welcoming and witty when it came to giving details about the castle upon our arrival. It is a self guided tour with ample materials to read about the history of what went on in the castle. I am glad the building still stands and remains to this day a piece of history as well as a joy for both locals and tourists to enjoy. I find the infrastructure to be the most phenomenal part of the castle but I was happy to learn many of the peculiar stories and fun facts. An excellent location to bring all ages for a brief history.
At the foothills of peak, there is a Reservoir & it’s shore is an optimal place for fishing. . Summit has a restaurant – Refreshing fries and burgers.
Best time to visit the peak would be 11am -1pm. Lot of view points for shutterbugs.
I’ve “run” the marathon that uses this trail twice. It is truely a surreal experience. This trail can kill you if you’re not educated to conditions, fit and kinda lucky. Do your homework – physically, mentally and emotionally. Talk to locals who are experienced before attempting. Good luck and have fun.
